Alumni Advocates of the Year
Jeanie Esajian California State University, Sacramento
Jeanie Esajian has been representing Sacramento State’s Alumni Association
on the CSU Statewide Alumni Council since 2004, and currently chairs its
Program Committee. Previously, she served on its Government Relations
Committee and has participated in several CSU Legislative Days. She is a
past president of the Sacramento State Alumni Association and has served
on its Board of Directors since 2001, working chiefly in the area of membership
development.
Esajian has worked in the marketing and communications field for more than
20 years and is currently chief of the communications and public outreach unit
of the CALFED Bay-Delta Program, where she manages communications to
news media and efforts to engage stakeholders in the program. She has extensive
experience in private sector healthcare marketing and communications.
Prior to her work in marketing and communications, she was a news media
reporter for two newspapers and a wire service, and served as a correspondent
for several national publications.
In addition to her volunteer work for the CSU and Sacramento State, Esajian
is active in the State Information Officer’s Council, where she spearheads the
group’s student scholarship program at Sacramento State. She received her
bachelor’s degree in journalism from Fresno State and her master’s degree in
communication studies from Sacramento State. |
