During his 14-year tenure, Dr. Charles B. Reed demonstrated an unwavering commitment
to serving the needs of all students and significantly improving access to underrepresented students. He was an ardent supporter of the CSU and championed higher education in California and throughout the country.
Including his 13 years as the chancellor of the Florida State University system, Chancellor Reed spent more than a quarter-century as the leader of the country's largest higher educational systems. He earned national and international recognition as an innovator, problem-solver and strategic thinker and as one of the country's premier experts on P-16 collaboration, institutional aid, and outreach to underserved students.
