Consider the Higuera Street Farmers' Market!

For more than 20 years, on almost every Thursday night throughout the year the city has hosted a wonderful, nationally renowned outdoor market/festival where local farmers sell fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers from their own crops while local musicians and performers entertain the crowds. The Market occupies six downtown blocks of Higuera Street between Osos and Nipomo streets, and the area is closed to traffic. The market runs from 6-9pm and nearby shops are open late.

Known as one of the best in the country, the Higuera Street Farmers' Market has something tasty, fun, and interesting for everyone. With more than 120 vendors, the market features produce, crafts, entertainers, and all sorts of freshly prepared foods including barbecued ribs, sandwiches, cookies, and more. There are also many great restaurants from which to choose along Higuera Street or on one of the side streets (such as Big Sky, Golden China Restaurant, Grappolo, McLintock's F Saloon and Dining House, Milagros, Mission Grill, Oasis Restaurant, Thai Classic, Thai Palace, and Vieni Vai). More information about the Higuera Street Certified Farmers' Market is available online ( http://www.downtownslo.com/farmers.html).
