Institute for Teaching and Learning (ITL)

Mission Statement

The Institute for Teaching and Learning (ITL) is an Academic Program of the California State University System devoted to promoting the highest standards of university teaching and to fostering faculty professional growth and collaboration throughout the 23-campus California State System. The ITL broadly defines faculty professional growth to encompass the multiple roles of faculty relating to teaching, research, and service.

Events

19th Annual CSU Teaching and Learning Symposium Rescheduled

San José State University will host the 19th Annual CSU Symposium on Teaching and Learning, which was originally scheduled to take place in the spring, on Friday, October 21 & Saturday, October 22. The format and agenda will be the same as initially set forth. Registration will reopen on conference website on May 15, 2016

Institutional Membership in POD

ITL is an institutional member of The Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network in Higher Education. POD is devoted to improving teaching and learning in higher education and supporting lifelong personal and professional learning and growth within the higher education community.

CSU faculty, administrators, and staff may join POD or renew membership (http://podnetwork.org/register/) through September 10, 2016 at the institutional rate of $95. Select "institutional" on the membership menu.
