The LA META Program
LA META: Learn about Mexican Education through a Teaching Assistantship

The LA META program provides an excellent opportunity for students who are considering teaching as a career and who would like to add an international component to their degree program. By taking classes at ITESM, learning about education in Mexico, and assisting teachers in public and private schools at the primary and/or secondary level, students will gain valuable experience in working with Mexican children in school settings while enhancing their understanding of Mexican language and culture. The program is relevant to students majoring in Education, Liberal Studies, Child Development or a closely related field and who plan to pursue a career in the teaching profession. The LA META course syllabi (.doc) are available for students to review with their academic advisors.

The Tec can arrange internships in a wide variety of businesses, as well as in the social sciences. The staff in the International Programs Office at the Tec can provide you with more information once you arrive. See the Tec's website for additional information.
