CSU Los Angeles

CSU Los Angeles excels in serving a diverse population. The university is ranked first by U.S. News & World Report in awarding bachelor’s degrees to minority students. CSU Los Angeles also is noted for the quality of its undergraduate business and engineering degrees, as well as for its extensive music and cultural enrichment programs, which benefit not just students but also the entire Los Angeles region.

CSU Los Angeles’ annual impact on the Los Angeles region is enormous. Annual spending related to CSU Los Angeles in the Los Angeles region ($314 million) generates a total impact of $598 million on the regional economy. This impact sustains more than 9,000 jobs in the region, and generates nearly $30 million per year in tax revenue. Even greater—more than $1.5 billion of the earnings by alumni from CSU Los Angeles are attributable to their CSU degrees.

 

CSU Los Angeles improves California’s economy with research, education, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Prospective employers are successfully connecting with highly employable CSU Los Angeles alumni and students through an innovative Web-based “e-fair” program. CSU Advantage L.A. is a pilot education-employment partnership to meet California's workforce needs.
