POLICY OBJECTIVE
To establish system wide contracting and procurement policy as required by Education Code 89036.
POLICY STATEMENT
The Office of General Counsel serves as the Trustees' official advisory agent to the CSU and its campuses on all matters related to compliance with legal codes, statutes and regulations, and on matters related to the carrying out of Trustees policy. For procurement operations, it serves as an approval agent for certain transactions specifically requiring legal approval or endorsement, and as a consultative body on all matters that require legal interpretation, resolution, or adjudication.
