Open Enrollment
An annual open enrollment period each Fall allows employees to enroll in or make changes to health plans. For 2008, Open Enrollment begins September 15 and ends October 10, 2008. For more information about Open Enrollment, read the 2008 Open Enrollment Newsletter.
- Covers medical, dental, Dependent Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA), Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA) and FlexCash. To make changes complete the Open Enrollment Benefits Worksheet (.xls | .pdf) and Declaration of Health Coverage and return them to HR Services by October 10, 2008.
- HCRA and DCRA require annual re-enrollment (even if there are no changes) to maintain coverage. To enroll or re-enroll, complete the HCRA/DCRA Enrollment Form.
- Changes made during open enrollment take effect the following January 1.
COBRA Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation
Act (allows eligible employees and dependents to temporarily continue health benefits
coverage under certain conditions)
Retiree Health (Medical and Dental)
CSU post-retirement medical and dental benefits are available to employees (and their eligible
dependents) who retire within 120 days from the date of separation from employment.
