Item 876 - Job Code

(PPT Line G Item)

This is a four-digit code that is valid only for Management Personnel Plan (MPP) class codes.  The code identifies an individual job based on the Job Code Family, Job Function and Job Category.  

 

Questions concerning job code applicability should be directed to appropriate campus personnel or the Chancellor's Office, Human Resources.

 

Coding:

On Line G, enter: 876 / XYYZ (Four digit Job Code)

X = Job Family

Includes job functions that share similarities in the nature of work

YY = Job Function

The function describes work activities commonly associated with a particular occupational group or discipline.

Z = Job Category   

The category denotes the administrative, professional and supervisory levels outlined in the MPP Job Reporting System Administrative Guide.

Example:

The employee is appointed to MPP Administrator IV, Class 3300. The duties and assigned responsibilities are that of a Systemwide Director of Human Resources Programs Administration. The Job Code is Z293.  Enter: 876 / Z293

Audits:

9876-01 JOB CODE MUST BE ENTERED IF CBID IS 'M80'.

If Collective Bargaining Id (Item 126) is M80, Item 876 must be present.

9876-02 JOB CODE MUST BE DELETED IF CBID IS NOT 'M80'.

If Collective Bargaining Id (Item 126) is not M80, Item 876 must be deleted.

Instructions:

  1. An entry is required whenever an employee is appointed or otherwise moved into one of the Management Personnel Plan classes.

  2. This item must be deleted (asterisked) when an employee is moved from one of the MPP classes.
