  • For fiscal year 2008/09 lump sum payment determinations, the increase percentage award (e.g., 2.5%) remains constant across any base salary changes between July 2008 and January 2009. The lump sum amount should be adjusted accordingly, based upon the change in the base salary over those respective months.
  • To maximize the retirement compensation allowances for individuals that retired within 12 months of the FY 2008/09 PPI implementation, CalPERS authorized the CSU to back out the lump sum payments and process the equivalent base salary adjustment effective July 1, 2008, for all affected individuals. This change encompasses individuals who received a lump sum increase and retired between July 1, 2008 and February 1, 2010.
