Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities

General Information
  • The Summer Fellowship Stipend is one of three programs made available to the CSU for faculty professional development for research, scholarship and creative activity. The Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities program is administered by Academic Affairs at the Office of the Chancellor. Questions pertinent to the program should be directed to the Research Initiatives and Partnerships department within that office.
  • This program is available in those years when the CSU provides an allocation to campuses for this purpose. As funding permits, designated faculty employees may receive a summer fellowship stipend. This one-time payment shall be equal to one or two times the employee’s monthly salary rate in effect the first day of the June pay period of the respective year as reflected on the PIMS database.
  • Refer to the collective bargaining agreement, Supplemental Agreements and Letters of Contractual Intent under the subject “Faculty Development Funding and Procedures” dated September 3, 1987 for additional information.
