Non-Discrimination
Summary

California and federal laws, as well as CSU systemwide policy, prohibit unlawful discrimination against any employee or applicant for employment.
Discrimination is unlawful if it is based on a protected class including: race, color, religion, sex (pregnancy or gender), sexual orientation, marital status, national origin (including language use restrictions unless justified by business necessity), ancestry, disability (mental and physical, including HIV and AIDS), medical condition (cancer/genetic characteristics) and age (40 and above).
Represented employees may file a complaint of unlawful discrimination at their campus using the appropriate procedure provided for their bargaining unit. Non-represented employees may use the procedure in Executive Order 928 (.pdf).
