Message from the Chancellor
The California State University (CSU) is committed to providing high-quality and affordable
graduate education to individuals who want to pursue postbaccalaureate education, and I want
to thank you for your interest in our fine institution.
A graduate education can provide a springboard to a successful career for students, whether
your interest is in a professional career or in preparing to enter a research-scholarship doctoral
degree program. The CSU is an ideal choice because we offer hundreds of degree programs and courses
of the very highest quality from which to choose. These programs will enable you to advance in your
career path by preparing you for a higher level position or by enabling you to become licensed or
qualified in a variety of applied areas. A graduate degree can make it possible for you to increase
your earning power while having an impact on all sectors of California's society.
The CSU values graduate education because it is critical and central to the economy of California,
and by entering one of our many degree programs you can become part of our shared future. Graduates
of our programs in the humanities, sciences, engineering, technology, agriculture, business, and
education constitute the leadership and workforce for the state. They are the CEOs and CFOs of the
multitude of businesses and organizations in the state; they represent up to 70 percent of all
teachers and educational administrators in the state; and they serve in the full range of capacities
in the state's tourism and entertainment industries. In short, CSU graduates can be found in every
level of the state's workforce and are the intellectual wealth that drives the state's economy.
We are proud to present this overview of the graduate education programs available at 22 campuses
of the California State University, and we hope that you will give the CSU your full consideration
as you plan your postbaccalaureate education.
