Fees and Other Expenses
State University Fee
All students enrolled in CSU graduate programs and other post baccalaureate California
resident students pay a State University Fee based on the number of units they are taking.
The fee amount differs for Credential program students and out-of state students.
Visit CSU Student Fees for more information
about current fees.
The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees.
Other Costs
College costs will vary depending on where a student lives during the academic year-at home
with parents or relatives, in university or campus housing (residence halls), or off campus
in an apartment or other housing. Costs recognized include:
- Housing and meals
- Transportation
- Books and supplies
- Miscellaneous personal expenses
For financial aid purposes, campuses must establish standard student budgets or cost of
attendance allowances. Please check with the campus financial aid office for budgets that
reflect the local or regional costs in the area served by particular campuses.
