Jean’ann Miller

Jean’ann Miller graduated from high school in 1992 and enrolled in a local college, but quit after only one semester with no plans to return. She left an abusive marriage after 10 years and became the sole support for her two young sons. By this point, Jean’ann had been out of the workforce for eight years, but she was determined not to let her circumstances hinder her. With her sons as an inspiration, she made the decision to go back to college and fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher. She graduated from Modesto Junior College with honors in August 2006 and transferred to CSU Stanislaus in fall 2006. Currently, Jean’ann is a liberal studies major with an English concentration. She plans to graduate in December 2008 and then enter the credential program at CSU Stanislaus in January 2009. Jean’ann will be the first in her family to graduate from college.
