CSU Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement
The California State University (CSU) is proud to present the 2014 recipients of the CSU Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement. The awards are given each year to those students who demonstrate superior academic performance, personal accomplishments, community service and financial need.
The personal stories of these students are inspiring. They have overcome tremendous life challenges to pursue a college degree. Yet while their commitment, drive and perseverance are extraordinary, these students are not unlike the thousands of students who look to the CSU each year for high-quality, accessible, affordable educational opportunities. Without the CSU and scholarship programs such as the CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement, many of these students would never have the chance to attend college and achieve their dreams.
The CSU is grateful to its many supporters for creating and sustaining this important award, especially the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, which established the initial endowment; members of the CSU Board of Trustees; and other supporters of the university who have made personal contributions. The CSU also recognizes the leadership of Dr. Ali C. Razi, trustee emeritus, whose personal commitment sustained the award in its early years and whose inspiration of others has helped it thrive.
The CSU congratulates this year’s winners whose talent and determination will help build and sustain California’s future.
