Recipient, William Randolph Hearst/CSU Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement
Marco Zahedi will complete his bachelor of science degree in biochemistry in June 2007 from California State University, East Bay. Post-graduation, he is applying to medical school with an interest in general family practice. He volunteers at Crisis Support Services and Highland Hospital, and has accumulated 350 hours of community service while maintaining a 3.9 GPA. Marco has received honors recognition from CSU East Bay, along with awards from the city of Oakland. In recognition of his dedication and hard work, Student Health Services gave Marco an award of appreciation for service rendered as co-chair of the Student Health Advisory Committee and co-founder of the Pre-Health Professional Association. He is also fervently involved with natural disaster preparedness in his community.
