Katrina Hammer is an outstanding achiever and academic performer. The field of teaching appeals to her and fits well with her strengths. Katrina's strong community spirit and enthusiasm have helped her succeed. Her volunteer work with AmeriCorps, teaching English-language learners, encourages her desire to work with young people, specifically at the elementary school level. Katrina has worked with teens in various capacities including a nonprofit organization that promotes self-esteem in young people. Katrina has served as a student ambassador and is currently completing her multiple subject credential program at Sonoma State University. She is a student teacher at McNear Elementary School in a third grade classroom and is finding that her work at an educational toy store, Early Work Toy Station, has brought her further insight into how children interact and learn.
