The William Randolph Hearst/CSU Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement is given each year to those students who demonstrate superior academic performance, personal accomplishments, community service and financial need. Each of these outstanding award recipients receives a $3,000 scholarship.

The Trustee Ali C. Razi Scholar

In April 2006, Dr. Ali C. Razi, Trustee Emeritus of the CSU Board of Trustees, endowed a scholarship fund to recognize the top scoring recipient of the William Randolph Hearst / CSU Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement. The California State University Foundation Board of Governors honored his commitment to students by naming the distinction as the Trustee Ali C. Razi Scholar.

The Trustee Ali C. Razi Scholar receives a $10,000 scholarship, and the recipient of the Trustee Ali C. Razi Honors receives a $6,000 scholarship.

The Trustee Murray L. Galinson Scholar

In May 2007, Dr. Murray L. Galinson, Trustee Emeritus of the CSU Board of Trustees and Chair of the Board from 2004 to 2006, endowed a scholarship fund to recognize a William Randolph Hearst/CSU Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement recipient who best exemplifies extraordinary public service to his or her home or university community. The California State University Foundation honored his commitment to students by naming the honored individual as the Trustee Murray L. Galinson Scholar.

The Trustee Murray L. Galinson scholar receives a $6,000 scholarship.
