To all California State University faculty and staff members:
Welcome to the web site of the California State University. I want to thank you for your part in making the CSU one of the country's finest systems of higher education.
Since it was brought together as a system in 1961, the CSU has undergone impressive growth and development. Over the years, the CSU has expanded educational opportunities for California's students and strengthened its academic reputation.
The CSU is now the largest university system in the country, with 409,000 students and 44,000 faculty and staff members on 23 campuses. We attribute the success of the CSU to our superior faculty and staff members and their dedication to teaching, research and service.
In the 21st century, the CSU faces many challenges: serving California's growing student population, meeting our state's workforce needs, and continuing to provide high-quality services and programs during difficult budget times. Yet I am confident that our dedicated faculty and staff members will help us rise to those challenges and make our universities even better in the process.
I hope that you will take great pride in having such an important role in shaping California's future. Again, thank you for all that you do for the California State University.
