California middle school students gained and enhanced their confidence in resolving math and algebra exercises this summer at 28 Algebra and Math Institutes sponsored by the CSU system and the CSU East Bay campus.
The training was part of the CSU initiatives to help underrepresented students meet the requirements for college and develop a taste for careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM Disciplines).
The sessions, training 675 students, took place at local schools sites in the East Bay Area and at church facilities in Southern California.
Glory Christian Fellowship International Church of Carson on Aug. 6 hosted an evening of dancing, music, poetry and testimonials to celebrate the students' culmination of their Summer Algebra Institute.
