Rosanna Hughes is an administrative coordinator, event planner and budget analyst in the External Relations Office of the California State University (CSU), Office of the Chancellor.

She has been instrumental in the success of the CSU External Relations unit’s development of non-traditional partnerships with community, faith-based, education, professional associations, corporations and foundations to expand the pipeline of college-ready high school graduates.

She is actively involved as a coordinator and event planner in the CSU’s African American Initiative, Hispanic Initiative, Native American Initiative and Asian American and Pacific Islander Initiative. Rosanna also assists in the meeting planning and coordination of the CSU’s Presidents’ Council on Underserved Communities and the CSU’s Presidents’ Council on Industries Advisory Boards (in the areas of agriculture, entertainment and hospitality).

Rosanna is a native Californian and has spent her career in administrative positions in both the private and public sector in both Southern and Northern California. Much of her career has been spent in the financial sector holding senior executive administrative assistant positions in firms such as the headquarters of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Companies and the start-up of John H. Jaques, Inc., a mergers and acquisitions firm.

Prior to joining the CSU in October 2000, Rosanna was part of the start-up team of the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific’s Development Department.  Rosanna served as its Development Coordinator where she contributed significantly in its fundraising efforts by servicing its high-end membership donors, coordinating major galas and special events.

Rosanna attended Santa Rosa Junior College and the College of Marin and she resides in Palos Verdes with her husband David.
