Applying to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
How many students will be admitted each year?
Up to approximately 32 students will be admitted to each program annually.
Admission will be granted on a competitive basis; meeting the minimum requirements qualifies an individual for the program but does not guarantee admission to the program.
Application to CSU DPT Programs
Applying to a CSU DPT Program is a TWO PART process.
Part One: Apply to the CSU online through CSU Mentor:
- Go to CSU Mentor
- Proceed to the Graduate Application Page
- Follow the instructions for submitting your application online
Part Two: Apply to the DPT Program on the campus where you wish to enroll. Currently, most programs use the Physical Therapy Centralized Application Service (PTCAS), a single Web-based tool for applying to multiple PT programs. PTCAS is a service of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
The PTCAS application process requires submitting several documents, including at least the following:
- A personal statement
- Two to three letters of recommendation
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary programs attended
- GRE scores
- A minimum of 100 volunteer hours or paid hours in a clinical setting
In addition, some schools may require a separate application for the DPT department. Admission requirements may vary by campus. It is essential that you follow the specific requirements for the campus you are interested in. Find the requirements and timelines for each campus DPT program here.
As of August 2011, the CSU Doctor of Physical Therapy Tuition Fee is $8,074 per term ($24,222 per college year). This fee is subject to change. Please confirm current fees by contacting the program(s) to which you wish to apply.
Students enrolled in CSU Doctor of Physical Therapy programs are also subject to campus-based mandatory fees.
