Dr. Malcolm Lewis, P.E.
Experience
Dr. Lewis is a consulting engineer specializing in mechanical, electrical,
and energy systems. He has specialized experience in the introduction
of innovative building technologies and design processes. These technologies
include energy efficiency, sustainable building design, daylighting, thermal
energy storage, and cogeneration facilities. Dr. Lewis has over 30 years
of experience in engineering design and the analysis of energy-using systems
in buildings. He is the engineer of record for hundreds of new construction
and renovation projects for both public and private sector facilities,
totaling over 25 million SF.
Representative Projects
Dr. Lewis is active in the application of "sustainable design"
to the design and construction of "green buildings." He has
led CTG's involvement in over 100 green buildings in the past seven years.
He served as a Director of the U.S. Green Building Council since 1997-2002.
As chair of the Technical and Scientific Advisory Committee, he is actively
involved in the ongoing development of the LEED™ Green Building
Rating system.
Dr. Lewis has overseen sustainable design projects at a
number of colleges and universities, including UCLA, The Claremont Colleges,
Los Angeles City College and Alliant University. He currently has ultimate
responsibility for 11 active LEED™ projects on university and college
campuses.
