This workshop will focus on how organizations can build a change management capability and why this is important in our rapidly changing world. Case studies will illustrate real life examples of large scale change in both educational institutions and industry. The presentation will review the key principles of change management at work and discuss the ten critical success factors that enable organizations to manage change effectively. Attendees will learn how to apply these concepts to their specific work situations and identify key ‘learnings’ from the workshop. The workshop will be a combination of large group presentation and discussion and small group breakout exercises applying the concepts presented.

This workshop will focus on two of the ten critical success factors for effective change management: Sponsorship and Stakeholder Engagement. The presentation will define and explore the role of sponsorship in large scale change and discuss how to engage key stakeholders throughout the change process from the launch phase through design and implementation. Attendees will learn how the critical roles of sponsorship and stakeholder engagement have been applied in several current cases within both higher education and industry. The workshop will be a combination of large group presentation and small group breakout exercises applying the concept of Sponsors and Stakeholders as leaders of effective change management.
