Getting Around Town

Shuttle Service

Complimentary hotel shuttle vans run every 20 minutes from San Diego International Airport (SAN) between the hours of 4:45 AM and midnight.  The shuttle vans are grey, blue and white and run from the Marina and Bay Towers and Terminals 1 and 2.  Please be at the airport curbside “Courtesy Vehicle Pickup Area” for pickup and request for Marina Tower drop-off.

Outside of these hours, guests may request a pickup by phoning the hotel directly at (619) 291-2900 (option 0) and hotel can arrange pickup via taxi at $6.00 or other shuttle company at $10.00.

Amtrak has regular service from various cities throughout California to Santa Fe Depot (SAN) in San Diego.  Below are one-way prices and average times.

  • Fullerton: 2 hours, 11 minutes, $28

  1. Take Amtrak to Santa Fe Depot (SAN) in San Diego.
  2. Walk to America Plaza Trolley Station (Stop ID 10833); about 1 minute (52 feet)
  3. Take San Diego Metro Transit System (SDMTS) Bus 923 towards Ocean Beach; about 8 minutes, 9 stops. A one-way pass can be purchased for $2.25.
  4. Exit at North Harbor Drive and Harbor Island Drive (Stop ID 13325).
  5. Head east on North Harbor Drive and turn right onto Harbor Island Drive; about 4 minutes (.2 miles).

Taxi from Santa Fe Depot to hotel is approximately $10.00.

From East

  1. Take Interstate 8 West to I-5 South
  2. Take the Sassafrass/San Diego Airport Exit
  3. Turn right onto Laurel
  4. Turn right onto Harbor Drive
  5. Continue for 1.5 miles to Harbor Island

From North

  1. Take Interstate 5 South to Sassafrass/San Diego Airport Exit
  2. Turn right onto Laurel
  3. Turn right onto Harbor Drive
  4. Continue for 1.5 miles to Harbor Island

From South

  1. Take Interstate 5 North to Hawthorne/San Diego Airport Exit
  2. Turn right onto Harbor Drive
  3. Continue for 1.5 miles to Harbor Island
