Feedback Summary of the 1997 Academic Conference
Each year the Academic Senate CSU sponsors an Academic Conference to discuss
issues relevant to the Senate and the shared governance process within the CSU.
This year, it seemed logical to focus upon the baccalaureate study being
conducted within the Senate and the Cornerstones initiative. With the support
of the Chancellor, the conference was expanded to include about 15-20 faculty
from each campus. Preliminary drafts of the Cornerstones task force reports
were made available to the conference participants.
Conference participants divided into small groups to discuss various aspects
of the Senate's baccalaureate study and the Cornerstones task force reports.
Each group had a recorder who summarized the discussions within the group. The
summaries from the groups discussing the Cornerstones task force reports have
been consolidated into the following documents:
