The following is the criteria for each award the planning committee is seeking nominations and will be presenting during the conference. The nomination information, required format, and deadline are provided below.
Student Leadership Award
The Student Leadership Award honors a student that has been an effective leader in alcohol and other drug prevention on her/his campus. The honoree should have demonstrated a commitment to working with faculty and staff to enhance programming, creativity in addressing a variety of alcohol and other drug related issues and working with other students to positively shape the campus experience as it relates to alcohol and other drugs.
Champions Award
The Champions Award honors any CSU employee (administration, faculty, or staff) who has served as a “champion” for moving forward alcohol and other drug initiatives on their campus, in their community, or for the CSU. Examples of a Champion would be someone who has forged ahead even through times of difficulty or controversy, created dynamic and solid partnerships that led to exemplary programming, or provided outstanding leadership for comprehensive alcohol and other drug prevention programs.
Innovation Award
The Innovation Award recognizes an administrator, staff member, or student who has created an innovative event, activity, or strategy to better and more effectively serve CSU students and/or the community. This award recognizes those who have “thought outside of the box” or “blazed a new trail.”
Recognition Award
Intended for a person, group, or entity outside of the CSU system, this award recognizes that our efforts are more effective because of the contributions of the community at large. Though most of these people or groups do not ask for recognition or praise, we feel it is important to recognize outstanding contributions to our conference, to our efforts in alcohol abuse prevention, and to our CSU students.
