The Marine Landscape Ecology Lab (MLEL) at CSUMB specializes in the use of geospatial technologies and spatial statistics to study the relationship between habitat complexity and patterns of species distribution and abundance in intertidal and subtidal marine communities. Integrating techniques derived from the fields of marine and landscape ecology allows MLEL to examine the coastal environment across multiple scales of ecological organization.
