CSU Council on Ocean Affairs, Science and Technology

Welcome to the CSU Council on Ocean Affairs, Science and Technology (COAST) homepage. COAST is open to anyone in the CSU with an interest in marine and coastal affairs.

2008-2009 COAST Executive Committee Elected
The first COAST Executive Committee was recently elected. Congratulations to Dr. Kenneth Coale (Moss Landing Marine Labs, San Jose), Dr. Newell (Toby) Garfield (San Francisco), Dr. Rikk Kvitek (Monterey Bay), Andrew (Zed) Mason (Long Beach), and Dr. Steve Murray (Fullerton)!

COAST Collaborative Incentive Award Program Request for Proposals
Through the COAST Collaborative Incentive Award Program, assigned time will be awarded to tenured/tenure-track faculty for Spring 2009.  Individual awards will range from three (3) to nine (9) WTUs. Multi-investigator proposals are encouraged, as are regional and disciplinary diversity. The assigned time is to be used to develop and submit proposals that promote interdisciplinary, integrative, multi-campus research and educational initiatives to external funding agencies.
