Action Plan
- Develop Central website and repository for the Emergency Management and
Homeland Security faculty education and research group (Affinity group) under the auspices of the Chancellor’s Office
The central website will be created utilizing MERLOT architecture to create a digital learning environment. Also, through the utilization of wikis, chat-rooms, and reading resources and portal access to a variety of these features that will be coordinated with help from the Chancellor’s Office Academic Technology Group.
- Study various combinations of online/in-person (traditional)/hybridized models of education delivery. Provide a clearing-house of EM-HS education/training/teaching curriculum for interested CSU campuses and faculty members.
- Creation of a EM-HS Faculty searchable database and profiles as a step towards developing collaborative research and teaching program within the CSU; provide our students with information on respective CSU educational and program opportunities, types of delivery methods, etc.
- Form long term partnerships and organize liaisons with federal, state, and local agencies/organizations and the CSU system through the creation of CEMHS and inclusion of agency representatives on our list serve and related activities.
- Prepare system-wide grant applications for funding education programs and faculty research agendas in EM-HS areas. By attracting external funding support, we can build better programs that are accessible to more students and increase the scope of the CSU research portfolio.
- Organize and plan a Town Hall Meeting in Long Beach to bring federal, state, and local agencies with the public together in a public forum to discuss strategies and enhance EM-HS education and research programs with California Higher Education Institutions.
