With the leadership of Dan Turner, Dennis “Skip” Parks and Joshua Ruiz, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo recently applied for the 2008 Homeland Security grant proposal to establish a multi-campus Masters of Science Degree in Disaster Management and Homeland Security. The proposal addresses a state-wide need and priority, and encourages innovative course/ program delivery that would widely benefit EM-HS education across California.

SDSU received a four year, $5 million NSF grant funded initiative to support the National Geospatial Technology Center of Excellence (GeoTech Center). The GeoTech Center provides leadership to community and technical colleges in all aspects of emerging geospatial technology and the SDSU partnership includes Southwest Community College in (Chula Vista, CA ) and six other community colleges nation-wide and sets a new standard for valuable collaboration.
