Objective 1: Understand the Landscape of STEM Service Learning in the CSU

1.  How is service learning in STEM being implemented given the vast range of interpretations of SL?

Objective 2: Determine How the Quality of Service Learning Relates to Student Outcomes

2.  Does service learning in STEM disciplines have a positive impact on student success in three outcome areas: academic achievement, career development, and civic engagement?

Objective 3: Determine Medium-Term Effects of Service Learning STEM Courses

3. Does service learning in STEM disciplines promote access to the scientific enterprise or bring about meaningful change to the structure of scientific training, particularly for underserved populations?
