Raise Your Voice: Month of Action Activities

In February 2003, CSU students, faculty and community partners came together to host special events and dialogues that encourage and deepen students' understanding of community issues and promote civic action as part of national Campus Compact's Raise Your Voice Campaign: Month of Action. The campaign was designed "to increase, celebrate, and deepen the student civic engagement efforts on college campuses around the country.

Glimpse of past Raise Your Voice (RYV) activities:

SJSU submitted two questions to the national discussion, one of which asked, "Where is the impetus, who drives the civic mission at most universities: administration, faculty or students?" On March 14th, over 120 student leaders from AmeriCorps, Students in Action and other student groups spent five hours working on clean-up and construction tasks as part of the University's 3rd Annual Serve-A-Thon.
