San Luis Obispo: Disability Sports Expert Recognized for Activity Program

San Luis Obispo

Dr. Kevin Taylor, Chair of Kinesiology and disability sports expert, received the Learn by Doing Scholar award for his work developing the Activity4All program, in which students collaborate in designing equipment to enable physical activity for people with disabilities. Dr. Taylor and his co-researchers evaluated the effects of the design project experience by focusing on learning engineering design, student motivation, and student views of people with disabilities, as well as student-identified benefits and obstacles in collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
