Kristina's primary responsibility is to manage the AmeriCorps*VISTA program funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), through the California State Office for the 2014-2015 academic year. As a CSU and VISTA alumnae, Kristina brings the knowledge necessary to launch this new program.
While earning her Bachelor's Degree at CSU Chico, Kristina was very involved in Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE). Her experiences at CAVE exposed her to a variety of service opportunities in the local community and insight into supporting faculty service learning projects. Kristina first worked with the Chancellor's Office as a student leader representing Chico State in the Center for Community Engagement's Advancing Community Engagement with Student Leaders initiative and how-to manual release. In her final year at Chico she was elected as the Executive Vice President for the Associated Students.
Following her passion for service, Kristina served two terms as a Massachusetts Campus Compact AmeriCorps*VISTA. Placed at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology (BFIT), Kristina's VISTA project focused on college access and success programming in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). During her time at BFIT, Kristina designed student involvement and leadership programs, trained and supported faculty in designing and implementing service learning curricula, and developed long-lasting community partnerships.
Kristina received her master's degree in Leadership with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University.
