Consortium of Applied Social Science Research Centers

What is CASSRC?

CASSRC centers offer a wide variety of applied research services. From project design and development, to data collection and analyses, to the final stages of report and presentation preparation, the entire research process is tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.

What are the benefits of employing the services of CASSRC member Centers?

Undergraduate students seeking real world experience in applied social research can find a variety of opportunities to get involved with their campus CASSRC research center or institute.

  • Because member Centers are part of the CSU system and other State or California entities, contracting with them for research projects often eliminates the bidding process for state and local public agencies.
  • Large-scale, multi-site studies can be easily accommodated by the combined abilities and resources of each Center.
  • CASSRC member Centers draw not only upon faculty expertise, but also involve students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, thus helping to train California's next generation of researchers, policy analysts, and decision makers.
  • CASSRC Centers employ the latest approaches and techniques to applied social research, including advanced analytic techniques, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Internet-based survey technology.
