Education Doctorate State University Fee

On September 22, 2005, the governor signed SB 724 (Scott) into law, which for the first time allowed the California State University to offer an independent doctoral degree. The CSU admitted its first cohort of education doctorate students at seven campuses in fall 2007. Four more campuses will offer the education doctorate beginning in fall 2008.

The Education Doctorate State University Fee rate for this program was approved by the CSU Board of Trustees in November 2006, and follows the guidelines established in the state education code, which stipulates that each student in the program shall be charged fees no higher than the rate charged for students in state-supported doctoral degree programs in education at the University of California, including joint education doctorate programs of the California State University and the University of California. The Education Doctorate State University Fee rate for the 2007/08 academic year is $7,380.
