Student Fees

CSU's student fee information is contained in the various items below.

• Systemwide and Campus Mandatory Fees

  In addition to the systemwide State University Fee, students must also pay certain campus mandatory fees in order to attend the university. The Mandatory Fees page provides an annual listing of campus mandatory fees.

• CSU Student Fee Policy -- Including Executive Order 740

  All campus fee adjustments are governed by CSU's student fee policy. This recently revised policy is to be implemented by the campuses as outlined in Executive Order 740.

  This PowerPoint presentation provides an overview of the CSU’s efforts in the past year to develop a long-term state funding and student fee policy for consideration and adoption by the Board of Trustees.

The CSU Student Fee Policy, Executive Order 740, requires that each campus report to the chancellor for the most recently completed fiscal year a complete inventory of all fees charged to students and the total revenue collected for each fee. Further, current year fee levels are reported. Campus fee report entries are completed in August of each year. Campus respondents should follow the Annual Student Fee Report instructions to complete fee level and revenue data entries into the systemwide fee database. Also refer to the Annual Student Fee Report instructions regarding how to download campus fee report entries into an Excel spreadsheet for review and analysis after completion of campus fee entries

• Fee Waiver Information - for campuses

  Campuses may provide certain students with fee waivers as authorized by State Education Code, CSU Executive Orders, and other legal references. As the CSU budget process includes the projection of fee revenue, the CSU Budget Office must take into account the number of state mandated fee waivers granted by the campuses to students. Fee waiver information is provided by the campuses to the CSU Budget Office via an annual report of fee waivers. Recent fee waiver reports as well as a guide of authorized fee waiver programs are included.

• Fee History   

  The CSU Fee History table provides over ten years of CSU average academic-year resident, undergraduate student fees.

• Comparative Institution Resident Student Fees

  The CSU Two-Year Comparative Institutions Fee Data table provides comparison institution academic-year resident, undergraduate students fees as compared to CSU fee levels.
