Message from the Chancellor

Dear CSU Colleagues,
The California State University is the largest public university system in the nation and is a leader in high-quality, student-focused higher education. All of us who care about the CSU share a commitment to build and maintain that distinction. Projecting a strong and coherent identity for the CSU is one important way we can communicate the excellence and value of the CSU to the world.
The most important principles in generating and maintaining name recognition are consistency, frequency and repetition over a sustained period of time. It is critical that the CSU adopt a strong and consistent use of the California State University name, wordmark and other visual identifiers.
The CSU Chancellor's Office Communications Department has developed a comprehensive visual identity system to support unified branding for all CSU Office of the Chancellor and systemwide departments or programs. I ask for your cooperation and support in using the CSU branding and visual identity standards. These standards will be most effective when they are used carefully and consistently. They should be used in all of your communications efforts.
Working together, we can strengthen the CSU's public image, increase awareness of our many contributions, and build loyalty among our many constituencies.
Sincerely,
