Branding Overview

The California State University is the nation's largest university system, with 23 campuses and seven off-campus centers, almost 447,000 students, and 45,000 faculty and staff. It is indispensable to California's economic prosperity and diverse communities, and is renowned for the quality of its teaching and for its job-ready graduates.

Projecting a strong and coherent identity is a crucial element in communicating the CSU's value and excellence to the public.

The branding standards are designed to help the CSU:

  • Present a consistent effective visual identity that is easily recognized by all its audiences.
  • Strengthen the impact of the CSU names–"The California State University" and "CSU."
  • Enhance standards in communications to support and reinforce CSU fundraising and public relations activiites.
