Capital Planning Design and Construction thanks
those that were able to provide feedback to the services we provide to support
facilities operations and campus development.
We agree we need to get our team out to the campuses more often, especially
during the budget development stage of our projects. To that end, CPDC will be
meeting with campuses to help test our Program for Environmental Responsibility.
Meetings are also aimed to improve the budgeting for more energy efficient and
sustainable buildings and working to promote integrated building design.
While our focus will remain on the effective design and operation of building HVAC systems,
we plan to address building envelope and lighting systems when reviewing feasibility
studies and during our schematic design reviews. We appreciate the positive
feedback on the integrated building design initiatives and campus experiences
to guide our program development.
Other on-going efforts include assisting campus master planning efforts and
compliance with CEQA; training with Contracts and Procurement on energy project
delivery methods; and filling vacant (and soon to be vacant) positions in
Plant and Construction Management.
