2009 Employee Climate Survey

The opportunity to improve what we do requires feedback from a variety of sources. That feedback can come in the form of a conversation, a formal survey, a statistical measure of output, to name a few options. The annual Employee Climate survey is one form of feedback that is providing valuable information for the Business and Finance Balanced Scorecard.

The Balanced Scorecard – the continuous improvement framework being utilized by the Business and Finance Division - is comprised of four perspectives – financial, customer, operational, and innovation and growth, which taken as whole can provide a comprehensive view of performance. The foundation of our Balanced Scorecard is the category of Innovation and Growth (or Employees and Organizational Capacity). Without that strong foundation, high quality processes and happy customers/clients cannot exist. The four strategies currently identified for Innovation and Growth in our B&F scorecard are:

  • Expand our skills and competencies
  • Improve communication and teamwork
  • Maintain and improve our positive work environment
  • Make leadership everyone’s responsibility

The Employee Climate survey is the instrument being utilized to capture internal employee feedback about our working relationship and environment. The survey has questions that are intended to capture data on all four of the above strategies.

This survey is administered each spring. The current survey results can be found below. Thank you once again for your participation.
