CSU, Northridge received a mini-grant to create the RADD designated driver program in which bars and restaurants provide free rewards to designated drivers. Prior to implementation, CSUN surveyed students to identify bars and restaurants they frequent and then recruited 27 of these establishments. Health Promotion, Campus Police, peer educators and other student volunteers introduced RADD to more than 2,000 students at various campus locations-the program has been very successful. As part of RADD's marketing efforts, CSUN's peer educators created the "Matador Cooler" mocktail which was featured in the Los Angeles Daily News as a New Year's Eve nonalcoholic alternative.
