Humboldt State University
The Sexual Assault Prevention Committee (SAPC) of Humboldt State has received a $250,000 Department of Justice grant to fund programs that prevent and respond to sexualized violence, domestic and dating violence, and stalking. Research shows that at least half of all violent crimes involve alcohol consumption. The grant will fund a campus prevention educator, a comprehensive prevention program for incoming students, and training for university police, faculty, and staff. The grant will also help develop bystander intervention strategies and build upon the work of campus peer educators to create a safer and more accountable community. Central to the implementation of the grant will be ensuring that campus efforts are survivor-centered.
