CSU Fall Term Enrollment Summary, Fall 2011 Profile
2011-2012
December 2011
Explanatory Notes
1. This report is based on the Student Enrollment File (ERSS) of the Chancellor's Office Enrollment Reporting System, Division of Analytic Studies.
2. The census date for this report is the close of the third week of instruction for campuses on a quarter system and the fourth week of instruction for campuses on a semester system. Enrollments are in terms of the net number of students actively enrolled on the census date.
3. Enrollment type is based on the number of semester or quarter credit hours for which a student was enrolled on the census date, as follows:
Part-Time students - fewer than 12 credit units
Full-Time students - 12 or more credit units
As of Fall 1994, for postbaccalaureate/graduate students only:
Part-time students--fewer than 9 semester or quarter hours.
Full-time students--9 or more semester or quarter hours.
4. Class level is determined by the number of accumulated semester or quarter credit hours as follows:
|
Class Level | Semester Hours | Quarter Hours |
|
| | |
|
Freshman | fewer than 30 | fewer than 45 |
|
Sophomore | 30 to fewer than 60 | 45 to fewer than 90 |
|
Junior | 60 to fewer than 90 | 90 to fewer than 135 |
|
Senior | 90 or more | 135 or more |
5. A postbaccalaureate student holds an acceptable baccalaureate or its equivalent and has not been admitted to a graduate program. Postbaccalaureate students in this report are split into those seeking a basic teaching credential (single subject, multiple subject, or special education) and all other postbaccalaureate students.
6. A graduate student holds an acceptable baccalaureate or its equivalent and has been enrolled in a graduate program (master's or doctoral). The distinction between graduate and postbaccalaureate students reflects transitional reporting based on either Student Standing Code or Degree Objective Code.
7. Full-time equivalent (FTE) is a measurement of enrollment derived by dividing total student credit hours for a term by 12 for graduate students (master's or doctoral) and by 15 for all other students.
8. Enrollment in the Statewide Nursing Program is now included in Dominguez Hills.
9. Beginning fall 1999, International Programs is included in all statistical reports.
10. Beginning Fall 2010, fall reports will be posted with non-resident-only data as well as resident-only and total enrollment data.
