Cal State Hayward's 342-acre main campus is conveniently located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area with an enrollment of 13,240. The university also operates a second campus in Concord, serving students who live in Contra Costa County. Both the Hayward and Contra Costa campuses provide ample parking, and the Hayward campus is served by the East Bay's bus system and its own free shuttle that transports students to and from two nearby BART stations. The Hayward and Contra Costa campuses are beautiful, convenient, and accessible.

CSUH students experience a surprisingly intimate learning environment. Personalized attention, small classes, dedicated professors, and access to advising and tutoring are hallmarks of learning at Cal State Hayward. CSU Hayward's acclaimed General Education Clusters program for undergraduate students is a good example. Students join a learning community of students with similar interests; and together with their instructors, they form a core support group for the first two years. As one of a handful of California State Universities in session for four quarters, students at Cal State Hayward find it easy to stay focused due to the year-round schedule. This convenient and flexible year-round quarter system helps many students graduate early, sometimes within three years.
Cal State Hayward's commitment to student success goes beyond its curriculum and services to the design of campus itself. The university's classrooms, computer labs, and library are wired for 21st century learning. A laptop computer loan program ensures computer access for all students. Adding to these advantages, the university is in the final stages of a major capital campaign to build a new, state-of-the-art business and technology center. With ground breaking slated for next year, the center will feature high-tech classrooms with advanced communications, multimedia, and videoconferencing facilities.
