Pilots

The CSU maintains a Teaching Commons to foster innovative approaches to general education and transfer. We encourage pilot projects designed to gather evidence of educational effectiveness and student success, to inform and support ongoing improvement. Pilots now underway:

Statway: Six California Community College Districts are authorized to test alternate pathways to college-level math proficiency without losing CSU articulation. Details

Oral Communication and distance delivery: The CSU has not allowed on-line delivery of courses in oral communication, but understands that may become more effective as technology evolves. Community colleges may propose new or modified courses within certain parameters. Details

Alternate GE at Santa Barbara City College: The CSU Chancellor has granted limited approval to Santa Barbara City College to deliver an Alternate General Education transfer curriculum, embedding some learning outcomes across a range of courses and high-impact practices. Details
