Phase One 2008-11
In its first phase, the AAC&U project Give Students a Compass supported revision of general education in the state
university systems of California, Oregon, and Wisconsin. First phase, work was made possible by support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Lumina Foundation for Education, and the State Farm Companies.
Three California State Universities served as beta sites to test new, highly engaging structures to deliver the liberal learning outcomes of general education.
