Awards & Recognition

ABOUT THE AWARD

Every year, a number of programs and individuals are highlighted for their accomplishments at the annual CSU Statewide Alcohol & Other Drug Conference. Learn more about the awards and outstanding recipients.

ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUGS CHAMPION

Honors an administrator, faculty, or staff person who has served as a "champion" for alcohol and other drug initiatives on their campus or in their community or organization. An example of a champion is someone who has forged ahead, even through times of difficulty or controversy; created dynamic and solid partnerships that led to exemplary programming; or provided outstanding leadership for comprehensive alcohol and other drug prevention programs.

CHANCELLOR'S AWARD

Recognizes a CSU staff, faculty or administrator who has exhibited a commitment to furthering alcohol and other drug initiatives on a CSU campus or within the CSU system.

PEER EDUCATION ADVISOR AWARD

Honors the hard work and dedication of a faculty or staff person who serves as an advisor to one or more peer education programs at their institution related to alcohol and other drug-related issues. Consideration will be given to those championing evidence-based programs as defined by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

STUDENT CLUB OR ORGANIZATION AWARD

Recognizes a student organization or club that is committed to educating others on the effects of alcohol or other drugs in an effort to create a healthier campus environment.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD

Honors students who have been effective leaders in alcohol and other drug prevention on their campuses. The honorees have demonstrated a commitment to working with faculty and staff to enhance programming, creativity in addressing a variety of alcohol and other drug-related issues, and commit to working with other students to positively shape the campus experience.

VIOLENCE PREVENTION CHAMPION AWARD

Honors an administrator, faculty, or staff person who has served as a "champion" for violence prevention initiatives on their campus or in their community or organization.
